Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadthanks very much for all the kind messages. She's been having problems for quite a while now and where it would probably only cost about £1000 to have her back to new with a new engine and turbo, it would end up being the most expensive dti in the world, having already spent in excess of £2000 on her. And as much as i love the motor, she is, at the end of the day, metal and rubber. And as most know, being a 2.2 dti, its only a matter of time before more spendies are required, so I will be looking for probably a 2.8 shorty again when I have sold all the parts I can. I'm not in any rush as she still has 6 months tax test and insurance so can take time stripping her and letting her live on as a donor for other members and not let her be sold off for buttons so I can afford to get the 2.8 and prepare it properly

Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadShould get at least £300 for the carcass scrap, a good chunk towards a 2.8

Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadThe pump's worth a few quid as well !
Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is dead£150 would be about right for the pump I reckon, so we have £450, then £30 for the snorkel= £480, £120 for wheels and tyres = £600, then brakes calipers £20 each = £680 added other little bits and bobs for say £150, you then have £830 and that should get you into 2.8 territory

Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadYou could get more for the pump than that mate, with the added bonus that ebay doesn't seem to be flooded which obviously pushes prices up
Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadEven better, you could be rocking and rolling soon Ian, and as a bonus the 2.8 will be quieter than Angelina, thats the grumpiest sounding DTI Ive ever heard

Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadPulled alongside the Missus this morning in the car park and she said ' Just got back from ploughing the fields then ? '
I think it was a lame tractor joke
Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadYeah, probably the noisiest dti in history
I would be asking £300 for the pump, then there will be EGR valve only been on 6 months vac solenoids 12 months old steel bash plates new MAF calipers B series SWB parcel shelf roof rack n spots all interior clocks (ones that actually work) Brand new battery bought last week snorkel with pre-cut wing and internal piping procomp shocks and trooper HD springs So hopefully will have plenty to get a 2.8 and left over for the plans I got for it ![]() SIZE DOES MATTER!! Won't be quite the same without Angelina rattling around the SE site, wondering what's gonnar go wrong next, but eventually the line's got to be drawn. Hope you get decent pennies for all the bits you sell mate, and we have you up and running in a 2.8 soon. Jim. Jim...

Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadIf it was me, I'd be tempted to put a 2.8 engine in it. Given the mods you have done and how much you like it surely a 2.8 engine can be made to fit and would give you the reliability and power with the comfort of a B?
You might require a gearbox as well? If you know the vehicle and it's bodily sound, could be a better bet than buying in to a welding marathon and/or a never ending replacement of parts. (brakes, shocks, hoses, ect, ect)
Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is deadReally sorry to hear what has happened. Its like loosing a close friend. Hopefully a new truck will soon come along for you.

Re: A very sad day indeed--Angelina is dead sad to see Angelina go ..... Instead of getting rid of all those bits - how about keeping a look-out for another 2.2 DTI (probably with a blown pump), and keeping Angelina as a source of cheap spares...... ![]() ![]() You seem to have some good kit on Angelina My Fronty thinks its a grown-up Tonka Toy [how sad is that] ?
