If we start a feedback type system, then this needs to be implemented, maintained and policed, which is more work for admin and mods, and they have enough to do already to keep the site running as it does...
Thing is there is no set standard that could be applied to feedback...each case would have to be dealt with individually...which would mean massive resources.
For example...fussy buyer would be dissatisfied with anything but immaculate part...overeasy buyer would be just glad if it arrived and worked...
Fussy seller would expect communication and payment to be immediate...overeasy seller would be happy so long as the deal went through and they got paid within a month...
So there are no easy standards with these things as it comes down to individuals and their own expectations and standards...and hence feedback left would be largely irrelevant and inaccurate...
On ebay, I put my own sellers policy on my listings, which tells people exactly how I do business...and that they should shop elsewhere if they didnt agree..
This unfortunately is not conducive to a community atmosphere that we strive to maintain on here...it is more suited to business only transactions between strangers..
I have a philosophy with selling/rehoming stuff...
I dont generally give credit to friends (thats the easiest way to loose friends)...If they have stuff then I expect them to pay me before they start spending money on other stuff, and generally I will only do this on stuff I dont really need the money for...if someone lands me out of pocket or doesnt pay in good time...then they wont get anything from me again...
As for everyone else...I expect to be paid upfront...having no paypal account is no excuse, it takes minutes to sign up...
This might seem a bit harsh, but it is the only way that works...
Letting people have loads of stuff that you cant afford to loose without payment is downright foolish, I think, and leads to bad feeling and b1tching on here...
As for sellers who dont respond....go else where, find someone else who can provide the things you need...if a seller is that unreliable then I would not be keen to hand money over on the hope that the parts actually arrive...and then would I trust the parts they supply if their business ethics are that questionable, I dont know...??
Bottom line is...buy and sell with people you know and trust on here, if you buy something pay for it, if you are selling something get paid before you post the item (or you will not only loose the item, but your money too on postage!).
FOG express is great, but get payment sorted before the goods leave, unless dealing with foggers that you personally know and trust...
In the main things work really well on here, with loads of pleased buyer and seller foggers..its only a few individuals that seem to want to spoil things...
my vote is dont let em, carry on the way we are and only deal once you trust the members involved.
Anyway...there ends the thoughts of Gregster
Lets kill this thread as moaning about the isolated bad things on here is boring...
but learn some basic common sense lessons from it so we dont go here again!!
