I was quite surprised and even shocked to hear of the carnage at this last weekends P&P day, and was wondering if any lessons have been learnt hear so as not to put new members off of enjoying their Frontera and perhaps educating those of us who might be too shy to ask.

Please, post you comments on why you think the damage rate was high and perhaps what you might do differently at the next event.

the main thing I have learnt is I need a snorkel as my air filler is now rather muddy and my front fog lights need sealing. think Fusion will back me here and say I pushed my Fronty real hard and didn't have any major probs. I only did the bits that I was happy with doing.

Didn't have a hangover on sunday as I didn't sleep saturday night

erm lets see, i was carrying lots of bottled water and pink coolant, i just forgot to take a spare radiator

Well i had no problem with coolant temperature it was the oil temperature,
didnt fit the oil cooler before i went and had problems with clutch thrust bearing before and the muddy water finished it off.

The main thing is the fronty got home without being recovered i now know the weak points to modify and to be honest i dont really care that i had problems on the way home as i had such a good time over the weekend and the fronty went everywhere i wanted it to go offroad, the faults can be fixed.

Also if you have an oil cooler its just as important to wash the mud out of it as it is the radiator.

The surprisingly hot weekend did not help and added to the nature of the mud, most damage appears to have been through over heating.

So, for others wating to play, ensure your vehicle is well maintained, monitor it's performance on the day and drive withing your limits - nut most of all, enjoy your self.

Good news, Olive is alive once more.

Replaced the siezed tentioner pulley and fitted a new aux drive belt and she runns much the same as she did before.

She is being booked in to have the oil seal replaced tomorrow, and at the same time im getting the timing belt and pulleys etc done.

These were all jobs on my to do list, just that the muddy water helped get them done all at once
