Fuel injection pump or not.I have a 2001 2.2DTI I live in Portugal, several times over the last few months the car has failed to start. The local garage immediately wants to put on a new fuel pump (1000-1500 Euro). I am not convinced the first time I convinced them to 're-prime the fuel system, it started and was fine for about 6 weeks. It went again 2 weeks ago it has gone again. If I need to where can I get a 're-conditioned fuel injection pump in the UK. Help please. Andy
Re: Fuel injection pump or not.Fuel pumps are not intermittent, they either live or die.
What you describe sounds like air getting into the fuel system at either the leak off pipes or there fuel lines. have all the pipes renewed and system primed ![]() SIZE DOES MATTER!! Re: Fuel injection pump or not.Hi,
As above, I bought a 2.2 DTi that was diagnosed with a failed injection pump. After changing the fuel lines ( all of them ), leak off pipes she started Click the link in my signature for the DTi to see all info. The only thing left to do is injector seals, if you can start the car ok, then park up for the night. If you then have starting problems the next day then injector seals need changing ( providing you have done the above first.) Fronty B, 2002 3.2 V6
