lost my only fronty key

As the title says I've lost it. I kept meaning to get a copy. but I don't think its that forward as I believe it has a chip in it which works with the transponder, a control box and the computer to get the car to start.
I went out at lunchtime to get some steel and they are hopefully in my workshop or yard.Trouble was it was dark by the time I found out I'd lost them.Spent ages looking maybe in daylight they'll turn up.My wife came and got me.
If I can't find it what should I do to get a replacement?

Best of luck in finding it.
There are some lock smiths that say they can come out and get the chip code out of the system somehow.
Get another lock set,key,IMO unit,and ECU.
Or go to main dealer for pass code and key

If the dealers involved it might be cheaper to just buy another truck and break the original one to off-set the cost! Next time copy the key.....

You may also be able to pop a lock barrel out and get a key cut from that.

If its an A series its not too bad to get sorted. Most auto locksmiths can code a new key even some branches of Timpsons can do it now.
B series however is a completely different story sadly

So a search for local tech2 mobile guy in your area guy near Nottingham charges 25 a key to reprogram to car get blank key of ebay and search for local car key cutting service as main dealers charged me 78 pound to cut it.

Find a mobile guy a week later who cut them for 50 and had blanks for 35

Pity you ain`t up here guy called out ,cut and coded a new key for my 2.5 for 60 quids , I did have to pay 30 quid to VX for the pass codes though .Hope you find it .

I did find it... I looked in daylight the next morning,and found it in mostly hidden in some leaves outside in the yard.
I took it straightaway to a local locksmiths ,ACME in Canterbury and they cut a new one and put a chip in for £25.00. They said it was a Mitsubishi key which puzzled me.
I thought I had put a post on here to say thanks for the suggestions and to say I had found it but I didn't so am doing ot now.
I was very relieved as you can imagine.

In line of confusion.. I got a new horse shoe blank cut for my DTI, that profile is from a Honda & the key number I have to confirm it with the blade!
