Re: LaningI could be interested if there's a set date well on advance so I can do some shift swaping as I have no holiday time left until April. However I suspect I'll have to make do with watching videos and photos of the trip

Re: LaningAye, I'm interested. Work wise as we have a big contract change at the end of Jan I would prefer Feb rather than Jan but easy either way.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Re: LaningOkay, re dates.
Seems I've got the last on-call for the contract over the w/e 31 Jan -01 Feb which is likely to be fun as one contract ends on the 31st and we 'tupe' to the new supplier on the 1st. The long and the short of it is that I'm good for any other weekend in Feb. This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Re: Laningat the risk of sounding stupid what is a "Spanner party"?
Re: LaningStrangley enough a spanner party also requires spanners, parts and a broken truck...
The host provides the broken truck, parts, fine food, wine, brews etc etc oh and spanners if they have them. The attendees provide banter, tools if required, knowledge ( ![]() The work does get done quicker if brews are restricted or 'staged' ie... take the gearbox off and you get a brew etc etc noting that a spanner monkey with a brew in it's hand is not holding or using a spanner ![]() Lots of spanner parties have been held, with tasks ranging from a bit of welding to complete engine swaps and pretty much everything inbetween.
