Lokka spline count

Lokka spline countRight just after Christmas I decided I was going to buy a lokka got under the truck and removed the cover plate on the rear diff. Tried counting the splines but as its quit tight in there could only get half a view. Now I managed to get a piece of paper in to rub on The gears to make an imprint but this was still only just about half of the shaft. Counted what was there. The lokka website said it would be either 26 or 30 spline I counted on my bit of paper and it suggested it wold be the 30 spline. So I orderd one. However now I have everything apart it turns out it's actually a 32 spline so nothing fits. The site doesn't list a 32 spline on any frontera. Where do I go from here I will email lokka on Monday but is there an easier way around it. Changing the shafts for 30 spline? Is 32 spline comon if not what's if off.

Re: Lokka spline countThink your problem will be the difference between a leafer and coiler axle Steve.
I'm sure there are references somewhere on all the Frontera axles, basically it's spline count and shaft diameter. If you consider an axle swap, your problem will be the leaf hangers etc. with the coil spring mountings. When you bought the Lokka, was there an option to quote your VIN number to Lokka as a cross reference check. You might have a bit of a leg to stand on to present your case to Lokka on an exchange.
Re: Lokka spline countWhen I order it I emails them first with the vin plate make model ect the reply was yes we do one for your truck use the search wizard. So I did then I get an email wanting me to confirm axle type (corporate banjo or dana supposedly Dana is uncommon ) so I sent the pics of the rear axle and a pic of the vin plate so they had all the info. I am guessing they just do nt do one for a 32 spline axle.

Re: Lokka spline countand as for the coiler axle on a leafer.
ive done it... and it is alot of work. and you do have to make your own U bolts too. but that is if it would fit in a coiler axle, as they are all the same diff salisbury 16ah. as i have one sitting on my work bench looking nice CARTREK

Re: Lokka spline countPete the extra width is one reason i did the swap
it is much better. And just wider, but the wheels are still inside the cage so all ok And the lwb wojld be the same as i did have a 2.4 axle for a time. CARTREK

Re: Lokka spline countI think I'm getting myself into a whole world of trouble with an axle swap. Been asking lokka exactly what the one supplied fits as in who they have supplied to before to see if there is an easy way around it but I haven had a reply yet and that was a couple or days ago. I think they have realised that I have sent them all the relevant info (vin no ect) to confirm it will fit. Then when I orderd it sent the info again and even when they asked for a third time weather it was a Dana type I sent them pics of the rear axle and the vin plate for them to check. I don't think they want to admit fault as they will have to pay the £70 postage back to aus. To be fair I don't want to either.

Re: Lokka spline countWhat is the product code on the box Steve
Might be able to cross reference to find out what they have sent you, one for a B series or an A series coiler. I'm not 100% about this but I think the B series is Dana or Dana style and the A series coiler is GM styled on a Salisbury axle. What the difference is him above only knows, for sure I don't.
