Leaking A series Moon Roofhow do can anyone tell me where the drain points are on an A series Swb moon roof, mne leaks when its been stood in ran all day, I've had the panel out, cleaned the inner and outer seal, no dice. I've noticed a small channel that runs around the roof opening approx 2mm wide, but can find where this would drain
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofIf you look on the C posts there are two things that look like grills that are held in with a few torx screws...whip these out and I think the drains pass down through there...
Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon! Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again... She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body... Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer! MAKE IT or BREAK IT! TEAMXTREME4X4 ![]()
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofYeah those are easy to find behind the rear light clusters, its the actual points on the roof where it drains from I'm searching for, hazarding a guess they're blocked if I can't find them.
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofRemove the moon roof and put an air line on on the pipes behind the grills in the c post that will blow the crap out!

Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofDo they only drain on the rear then? Or are is there the same arrangement up front?
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofNope only drain to the rear as the roof can be removed. Check the clips actually pull the roof down tight I had to adjust mine been a while since I had my 2.0 though.
The only boundry is your imagination.

Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofNow that makes sense, didn't realise the clips were adjustable, do you remember how you adjusted them?
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofThink there were screws on them.

Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofOk quick update, had the side grills off, O/S no pipe at all, N/S rubber pipe with joint as described, so I split the joint dug a little deeper and squirted the rear washer, this pipe is the feed for the re washer.
So it appears the moon roof has NO drains and relies on a water tight seal. I found the adjuster screw on each roof latch, there was loads of room fir adjustment, so did so. Now just gotta wait a bit and see if it's now sealing
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofJust hit it with a hose pipe!!!!

Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofHmm a few more drips on the side panel yesterday, added more tension on the clips.
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofGrrrrrr still bloody leaking! Looks like I'll be buyingsome tiger seal after all
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofLooks like I am about to do this as well, SWB has been in the garage since summer, it was parked outside Sunday night and it bleep down with rain and I now have loadsa water coming in
Soon to be without a Frontera after 10 years of owning one
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofOk, added more tension on the adjusters and its rained all day, so far no drips inside........fingers crossed I've sorted it.
Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofJust one question fella? Have you made sure the seal is clean and the area where the roof seats. I put a good smear of vasalene on mine then shut it and it never leaked. I was also able to remove it in the summer.

Re: Leaking A series Moon RoofYeah, removed the top and cleaned inner and outer seals.....when weather improves I'm gonna remove it again, warm the seals with hair dryer so they regain thier original shape, got a section where the lip has been folded the wrong way. Will treat em to vaseline at the same time.
Touch wood it hasn't leaked today.
