Annual meet 2014 Review

Re: Annual meet 2014 Review

Postby hipo1024 on Tue May 06, 2014 12:43 am

We got home a few hours ago all safe and sound. We left a good 20mins after the other eastern group and set the satnav for home which took us down a frankly beautiful cliffside road. When we joined the A5 I saw a few caravans in my mirrors, I thought it looked like the other foggers but dismissed it thinking they'd be way ahead by now. But a call from Ian and seeing them fly past as I stopped for fuel proved otherwise. Sorry we missed you at Telford, I had long passed it when Ian called to say they were there so I assumed you had decided to stop further down the road

I'd like to thank bobby, ste, rob and audra for organising this event and keeping us all fed :)

I really enjoyed the weekend, chanel enjoyed some of the laning (that's better than normal lol) and really enjoyed bala 4x4 site and she did her 1st hill climb as a driver too  who knows, I might make a mudder out of her yet lol

Made it home about 5-30 monday evening, so we had a really good run, Would like to thank everybody who attended the meet for making us feel welcome. Owen particularly enjoyed himself pushing his bike round the camp site and the laning as well as watching Dan in the woods at Bala4x4, He has spent the morning at school telling all his teachers that daddys friend got stuck in the mud in the woods and daddy got a "wheel up" going up a hill
Tracey did take some pictures on her phone but at the moment they are refusing to down load to photo bucket

Once again big thanks to Bob an Drifty and to Horses for keeping us well feed Cheers guys and roll on next years

Big thank you to Bobby and Ste for organising another great event!

Great laning day on Saturday led by Colley, and thanks to Trugga for sharing maps otherwise we wouldnt have gone anywhere....

We had a good play over at Bala on Sunday with my son seemingly now taken ownership of my truck and giving me a few heart stopping moments when i let him out on his own to video his exploits

Good to see Dan stuck to his principles at Bala and got stuck in the woods

It was a brilliant opportunity to catch up with people known and new and thank you for making us welcome.

Took the SatNav route home through the narrow roads to A5 - how the hell some of you managed this with caravans i dont know they were a little tight.

My truck didnt miss a beat all weekend, the tracking was "adjusted" by my son when he hit a rock at Bala but makes a change for the steering wheel to be twisted the opposite way for a change. Got home about 20:30 on Sunday night with a cracking journey home with no traffic. Noted that at indicated 70mph the GPS on SatNav shows 75mph which didnt do wonders for fuel economy or tyres which seem to have left nice little beads on molten rubber along the doors

Used Monday morning for a good clean up of truck and me and then retired to the pub for the afternoon - perfect end to the long weekend.

Think we may have some photos on sons phone so will try and get uploaded but in the mean time thanks to you all for making FOG great.

And to Bobby, thanks for arranging somewhere with hot showers which kept me warm (and the radiator in there!!) but must confess i still HATE CAMPING.....

Many thanks to everybody involved in making this event happen - Bobby, Rob, Ste and anybody else who put the effort in to make this yet another successful meet.
Good to have a good old chin wag with everybody.
Also to the group leaders, for my group a special thanks to Colley for showing us some of the legendary North Wales lanes. I think awesome is the word.
Once I've sussed how to upload the pics from my camera I'll do the honours and add them to this post.
