V6 swb !!! Very tempted !Seen a v6 shorty on the bay of evil !..... Been speaking to the guy , 61k on clock , reasonable service history ..... Reason for sale is a broken ankle ( it's a manual ) so he has got a auto and can't keep the fronty .... Any advice ?..... Very very very tempted ....... He's wanting £1750 ( it's 02 plate ) ! I'm driving a 2.2 at the minute so can't see it being much heavier on fuel than that ? Any advice !...
Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !the 3.2 can be better on fuel from what ive heard when driven properly. only thing id be concerned about is the "road" tax due to it being post 2001

Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !Cheers for the pointers gents ! I'm fighting with my self l .... The guy says it just been taxed , tax is £285 ...... Waiting on some more pictures before I head down for a look ( I'll not be taking cash with me because if I do I'll just buy it lol ) mmmmm what to do lol iv a nice cheque clearing on Friday lol
Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !if you take cash it shows your a serious buyer and puts you in a good bargaining position as most sellers are open to haggling with the thought of cold hard money in their hands. Also if you buy direct he'll also save on ebay fees so use that as well.
Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !If i had the cash i would snap his hand off. They do go like stink and fuel would be similer to the 2.2dti. Depending how its driven of course!
Comments on Betsy here please!!! viewtopic.php?f=115&t=56282

Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !Problem with me is if I take cash I'll not look at the critically .... The last 1 I got I took the £s and didn't spot the wrong engine , silicone sealant around the head lol .......hence a engine transplant 2 months after buying it lol ......… can always bank transfer pritty sharpish lol
Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !Well I've got a belter 3.2v6 and I'll be honest, DO not expect any more than 20mpg on a flat empty motorway.
Twelve months and 4500 miles later after totting up all the fuel receipts I have averaged 17mpg. In that twelve months I have serviced the car 3 times had the emissions checked all sweet, so as for decent fuel consumption, ha. I love the car does everything I want and some but I think I'm going back to the dodgy diesel far better on fuel. Hope it helps, not being negative just realistic. http://s1122.photobucket.com/albums/l53 ... e149-2.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !I too have a belter of a 3.2 and the only way your going to get 30 plus is driving like a nun and a bit of divine intervention. You may just get 30 at 56 if your prayers are good ones and you've not sinned for months. Realistically I get about 25 on a run and slightly less around town. I ve done 18000 in this one. My 2.2 is slightly more economical round town and the 3.2 is better on a run......in fact much better. I can run at 70 in the 3.2 and still better the 2.2 running at 60. So if you run a 2.2 you can defiantly afford to run a 3.2........in fact you'll be quids in as you save on head gaskets and cracked manifolds and the copious gallons of coolant and oil that 2.2 loves.
Seriously though I think it's a bit over priced but they are nice to drive. Make sure the rear member behind the bumper is in good nick and that there is no water or rusty plug in the rear NEARSIDE plug tube.....if there is then it may well have a cracked head, oil in there isn't likely to be a problem( just a tube seal). When they crack a head is early always in that position(well documented on the web and you tube). good luck and if your anything like me you'll end up buying it! ![]() Bag 'O' Sh*te No1 2.2 petrol 2000

Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !Another point don't broken ankles get better......it's not like they've cut it off. It looks nice and if it was that good wouldn't you hang onto it till the ankle mended

Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !If it's the one I was just looking at on there, in the title it says v6 but in the spec it says 2.2 I'd just question which it is before you buy.
If it ain't broke, fix it before it does!! You know it will!!
Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !Vehicle enquiry
The enquiry is complete. Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !I asked the question...
"Hi Yes it shows as a 22 on the look book but also says V6 after the description?? It drives like a 2.2 I am sure it is" Well, that explains it! Or was that a mistaken "V5" Fronty B, 2002 3.2 V6

Re: V6 swb !!! Very tempted !As fuel consumption what you think of going from 2.0 to 3.2v6 ... From what you guys say they are kinda similar in consumption..
In the city i am not really rushing: 50-60km/h where i can..In the city i estimate around 20mpg... Outside city and motorway: no more than 90-100km/h i can 31mpg average on long trips with combinations of motorways and national roads Please tell me the consumptions relative to the above's value..I can register the car in bulgaria to bypass my country taxes ... Also can you guys tell me if it's worth against 2.2Dti version... Thx ![]()
