So my question is, if you do a DIY break of a motor, how do you get around the issuing of a certificate? Is it something you can apply for yourself from the DVLA/VOSA or whoever the governing body is that deals with motors being registered scrapped or do you eternally have to annually register the now no existant motor for a fictious Sorn?
Got me thinking because I got hit with a fine for non declaration of a Sorn for a motor I bought for spares. My own fault because I tried to register it online and got a message that I couldn't and would have to register the Sorn by writing to the DVLA. At the time, incorrectly I thought happy days, it's not registered with me being the new owner yet, and I would have to apply for the Sorn when the amended registration documents arrive. £60 later I was wrong.
