Keeping My FrontyHi all been thinking of swapping my frontera for a 318 bmw I've now found which im due to swap soon but im having some doubts now should I keep the frontera or go ahead with the swap????????????
Re: Keeping My FrontyWell put it this way! Which one will get you through the snow or flooded roads????
No brainer realy. If i was going to have a new second car then a beamer would be on the list as i think there great cars. I'm sticking with me little 1.4 Golf Mk3 for the moment. Comments on Betsy here please!!! viewtopic.php?f=115&t=56282

Re: Keeping My FrontyFunnily enough I have both, an RS 2.2 swb and a 318 Beemer (2.0). Both have their place. If I choose to have another beemer I would have the six cylinder 2.5 petrol or even a diesel. It goes well enough and cruises happily between 80 and 90 all day. I have the two door model and it handles superbly. The mpg is not too good on either of my two motors with the beemer averaging about 30 mpg. They do also use a bit of oil, about a litre per 1000 miles is not uncommon and is widely known to most owners. The auto box is faultless and is tiptronic so you can use it as a semi auto and rev the nuts off it, then it really does get a march on. Costs are about the same as any other motor unless you buy genuine bmw parts. This is my second beemer and I will definitely have another one.
Re: Keeping My Frontyhmmmmm just cant decide lol
Re: Keeping My FrontyYou need to keep the fronty and get the beemer.......like Mickh says, they both have their place. One can do which the other won't,i would keep the fronty personally as i seriously regretted having to get rid of my old one, looking at another tonight though so hoping it's a good un.....

Re: Keeping My Frontyits the 2.0 model e46 02 plate with 80k on the clock. My fronty is 2.2 2000 plate with 46k on the clock and its mint not a scratch anywere. I dont go green laneing or anything use it as my daily drive.
Re: Keeping My FrontyNice cars but do can have headgasket issues and inlet manifold issues. Personally I wouldn't swap without finding out why they want rid and a full check done on the 318, always wary of swaps..

Re: Keeping My FrontyThe beamer can go fast but in the fronty you can go anywhere.....just a little slower!!
I got a Merc 63 plate C220 CDI Estate and a Fronty 2.8 Shorty, the Merc stays home unless I'm on business or the fun provension officer goes out. Regards Stuart Remember, keep the greasy side down!
