Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/I regularly have a scan on auto trader at most cars but can't help notice how few fronteras are on there now ! Last look there was 58 , I no a lot get sold via eBay now but even there the numbers are few ..........
Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/You are correct. They are dieing very slowly. It was a hard desicion to break mine instead of putting another engine in him. I just lost heart with it. At least im trying to get my new one to a decent standard after the abuse she had been given. If a builder wants to carry sand gravel and crap then he should buy a landrover!

Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/For me the real tale tell sign was when the main dealers started coming up with the reply 'no longer serviced' when spare parts were trying to be sourced.
Judgment must be on how long breakers will be a supply for parts, after that, we're really going to be in cr*p. Last edited by Retro Pedro on Tue Nov 26, 2013 9:56 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/I've noticed a huge drop in A series numbers as time goes on and t B is going the same way. It bugs me the way people will just scrap one and get another.......one day we won't be able to and that ill be it. We all like our trucks and when available we should put some parts away for when that day arrives cos one day there won't be any. We're all enthusiasts and are always fettling our trucks so we all have bits and bobs lying about. We may not need the parts today but we may do tomorrow and someone else may need them too. This may not be a problem today but it won't be long before we will struggle to find parts.

Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/Ok ...
So my car have 113.000 km...There is one in NL with 75.000 km and is looking very good but is around 3000euros...Someone may buy mine and i am thinking what to do next ? Should i invest in the current one or buy the one with 75.000 km and after that one will end it's life just drop frontera forever and buy other brand ?... http://www.mobile.de/ro/marc%C4%83/opel ... 53085.html The only "bad" about the above is lacking of Air Conditioning ... Can this be installed separately or the price will be too much ? If i don't get a Real 4x4 i wouldn't bother having a car at all...Of course unless is exceptionally needed...I decided to own a car just because the off road but without offroad is not worth the hassle..I am not married and i am not having kids so at least in my current situation i can manage without car at all... Well i thank to the OP for bringing this up because otherwise i wouldn't have realized the "Frontera" is dying slowly...I am may get a Pajero 2.5 but the problem is the taxes raises, the fuel consumption is the same as the frontera in the city and the diesel is a little more expensive than gas so basically i am calling for more money...Off course the pajero 2.5 may be more reliable, tougher but i question myself if it's really worth the money in my case... ![]()
Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/Digressing a bit, what would the natural replacement be after the Frontera?
Personally I wouldn't want a modern pickup or a sensor controlled rear wheel additional half shaft drive SUV instead of proper strength rear axle. So what are options? Again, on a personal note, I always thought a Mk IV 3.0 Trooper would float my boat but not so sure after all the issues with injectors.
Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/Buy a 'spare'.....
Look to what actually wears out, and how often you manage to wear them out time vs mileage etc and build up a wee spares stock. That and good maintenance should see your truck go on for a good few years yet. Don't forget, things like Brake Pads can (at a cost) be re-lined, just don't let them get to the metal! Wheel bearings (okay, bearings in general) can often be sourced using the reference numbers on the races via a specialist bearing supplier This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck. Comments on 'O-no' the truck may be left here Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/Bigdav , they are getting thin on the ground ain't they .... I was thinking about a delica at the beginning of the year ! Now they are really thin on the ground , there was 3 on auto trader last time I looked lol
Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/Terrano is kinda expensive to maintainedThis is from people they had them... In general Nissan cars are expensive...
So we will have terrano wiped out from earth, fronteras wiped out too, anything else ? ![]()

Re: Auto trader , we are a dying breed :-/My next choice would probably be either a l200 or the Isuzu rodeo, given that the frontera is also a Isuzu rodeo in some places that would lead me to think that the frontera has evolved into a pickup. Anything post 2001 will have sensors for sensors so you can't avoid that, but both the above trucks have proper ladder chassis and a live rear axle and ifs so the same sort of setup as our frontys
