Maximum x20se Engine mileage

Hello

How many km/miles do you think the X20se should last if maintained correctly (oil changes, spark plug changes, etc)...I have now on mine 112.000km..Im asking myself how many km i can keep my current 2.0 frontera..Also my dad teases me that around 200.000 km the gasoline engine lose compression and need segmentation..

Hi I've got a 1994 2.0 Sport which has done 145k miles ( just over 230 000 km ) dont really know how its been serviced, engine still going strong just brake problems at the moment, hope this helps

Engine wasn't switched ? If this holds true it will be intersting...I am waiting for more feedback..

Variable factors obviously come into play with longtitude of engine wear - correct servicing throughout it's life, as been thrashed about etc.
What about doing a compression test on all cylinders just to give you an indication of how the bore, rings etc are holding up.
Reckon you dad as got a point with generic gasoline/petrol engines running hot due to the very nature how they work compared to cooler diesels.
One of the members clocked up over 600,000 miles with a 2.2DTi original engine (fuel pump gave out in the end) but that was with long journeys and correct servicing intervals. Same fella had previously clocked up a very high mileage with an Omega, escapes for the moment, but believe that was on a petrol engine. All relative to long distance journeys and correct servicing.
Going back to the 2 litre engine, weird how they appear to fare alot better than the 2.2 petrol engine.

Anyway now i have 112.000 km ... Until 200.000 km mark it will be a long way for me if i want to keep the 2.0l until then...I do around 5000-6000km / year so if my calculations are correct should be more than 10 years for this fronty ... Heh
But 600.000 miles for 2.2Dti ... That looks kinda reliable for me..I don't mind spending 1000euros on the fuel pump if i do this kind of mileage...

For my next car i consider two options 2.2dti and 2.5 Pajero Sport and also 2.8 if planets will align somehow ...2.2dti unfortunetly is euro3 and being an euro3 registering the car i have to pay 8600euro...So it would be Car price+ 8600 euro + insurance + tax/year = final price...If it was Euro 2 instead euro 3 i would have payed 4800 euro instead 8600 euro...

In the comment it says the Fuel was exchanged ... So the engine should go even more...Intersting..
