digital mileage correctionThere is any amount of dodgy guys advertising mileage correction services. is there a way of telling if a car has this done to it. Thinking of changing her indoors motor but am a bit wary of coming up the years to all this new fangled technology like digital odometer
Re: digital mileage correctionwouldnt buy without full service history & check with old mots. However its still no guarantee.
I dont think there is any way of being able to tell if its been clocked. ![]()
Re: digital mileage correctionNew mots show last 4years mileage now but if its less then 3years old car then know way of telling
Re: digital mileage correctionif you get something with full dealer service history with a stamped book then you can easily check mileage etc but check its legit

Re: digital mileage correctionIf its a few year old, you can check the mileage online using a smartphone / ipad / laptop etc at https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status-vehicle
You will need the previous mot certificate number (which anyone/garage who is selling shouldnt mind you looking at BEFORE you buy it) and the Reg No... Not only does it let you know the list of all previous mot milage, but what it failed on and what advisories it had... Handy to know if somone has botched a job on it! Regards, Jason.
Re: digital mileage correctionTrouble is i couldn't get mine in for correction for a genuine reason before the last MOT. In reality it has done about 80K but currently shows about 170k! The reason for this is someone had the clocks swapped before i bought it as the old ones had failed but the mileage was much higher on the new set. So my car shows that it has done nearly 100k between MOT's! It never bothered me at the time as i thought i would just get it corrected but now it has been through an MOT i cant, well i can but it will show so i wont bother...
Rule #3: Don't believe what you're told. Double check
