Picnic in the woods 7 April reviewJust got back in from a great day in the woods as ever a big thanks to Greg and Sally for all they do in organising these events looking forward to the weekender in June..... will do a proper write up with pics later
Re: Picnic in the woods 7 April reviewAs above it was a great day. Driving around the woods in the shorty and not caring about dents to the body work I even let Lisa drive the car even though she doesn't have a license so with in 40 feet off getting behind the wheel she drove it into a tree. Teaching someone to drive in the woods was a bad idea

Re: Picnic in the woods 7 April reviewThanks to everyone who came and supported this picnic.
It was a good day and the sun was shining which always makes it better. It was good to see some new faces and different vehicles running round the woods, and of course some familiar ones too. Well done to Lisa for her first drive round and christening the 'cute' addition to the fleet, adding one dent to go with the several that Andy did. Oh, and the screaming was hilarious. Again thanks to everyone and see you all for the Weekender in June.
Re: Picnic in the woods 7 April review
Was that Andy while lisa was driving?

Re: Picnic in the woods 7 April reviewThe Jimnys did really well...proper capable little things they are. Made some of our "easier" stuff look challanging though as they have really short wheelbase so kinda nose dive into holes that even a swb fronty will gracefully navigate...funny though, had a few moments when they kinda needed holding up a bit...RetroPete would deffo have a nervous breakdown in a Jimny in about 2 mins of driving if think, they seem to be on the brink of falling over most of the time, with a slight reprieve on the flat bits in between.
The Jeep belongs to Tim, Alasdairs buddy...its a proper sorted truck, lockered up and sounds fab burbling around. Tim aint scared to get crazy with it either, catching some big air in the tyre changing hole and various other places round the site...A very precise driver, picking lines and executing them bang on, impressive to watch and much contrast to my technique of burying the gas and letting the trees I bounce off pick the line for me. He gave Alasdair step by step tuition all day as he found his feet in his A/t'ed fronty shorty. Alasdair did real well though, as did his misses Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
