Starting issue with van.

My Abs light came on unexpectedly about a week ago, all seemed ok, i thought it may be a dodgy sensor. Put it on the things to do list & didnt give
it any more thought. I went to start it @ lunchtime & it seemed a bit slow, but started & off i went. I was in and out 3 or 4 times today & all seemed fine.
Tonight i went for a take away, when i left shop to start van it was dead.....absolutely dead. Jump started and it went fine & got me home, it will be the
same in the morning, no doubt. Anyone any ideas if it would be battery or alternator. The latter was replaced with the Rac just under a year ago next week.

right that engine is actually a ford one. that engine will run provided it has sufficient fuel pressure (230 bar cranking) and crank and cam timing are syncronised.

sadly you cant tell this if you dont have specialist gear. id lean towards battery as once its running its fine. but check the wiring to the three pin plug on the transit the wiring breaks up and causes no charge issues
