What does anybody recon to using super unleaded or regular unleaded in the v6. Any benefits. I believe the ecu will ajust to what ever grade of fuuel is used, I know in turbo engines the higher octain rateing the better to prevent detenation. Is the extra 10p or so a liter worth it or do you get more mpg, power through a more efficeint burn?
Any ideas?

I always use shell v power in my petrol engines and v power diesel in my dti.i have always found the v power lasts longer than the regular fuel. Also at the same time it helps get rid of carbon deposits in the engine.

I Think the higher octane works well, enough to justify the cost....not for me, i do run a tank of the stuff every 4 months or so & also just before MOT time. I always used it in my petrol turbo`s in the past though  .

Always use Shell V power and BP Ultimate in both Petrol and Diesel!

Always get a noticable increase in throttle response and car or the truck seem more eager, maybe not massively faster but always feel like they pull better.

My old Leon Cupra loved the stuff. Would roll out 182 on the dyno with regular shell fuel and 188 on v power!
The wifes DS3 Dsport is the same, its the 1.6THP and when you run in a tank of V power it flies!
Rule #3: Don't believe what you're told. Double check

Have tried V Power in both my 2.3 and 2.8 TDi. Both of which I never noticed a difference other than they will belch black smoke. No noticable increase in performance or power. Personally I think that these fuels are pointless on older diesels.

Ive been running on super to try & its a little more responsive & runs more crisp, im yet to see if there is any mpg gain, but Im lead to believe that when the unleaded arrives at the station it has a addertive put in there tank by the garage which then donates the super unleaded, I dont know how true this is so dont quote me on it. So if this is the case it would be the same as putting a cleaner octane booster say from halfords into normal unleaded, the cost wouldnt be far off the same either, I may be wrong
