Re: A North Wales Jolly this weekend? What a great day (well two in my case)
Many thanks to Neil Ghosthunter and his other half Janet It was nice just to have a couple of cars out and very chilled out, the weather could not have been better. After a long gab at Corwen we headed off to the Car wash which understandably was quite low but as ever good fun. Neil's crossing ![]() ![]() I then saw a ready wrapped Sunday lunch only seemed a few hours old. ![]() From there we headed up to the Wayfarer. There has been a lot of water damage on the Corwen side and its has become a lot more challenging especially if you are in a standard truck, but we didnt have any issues so on we plodded to the top and Janet signed the book with big smiles On the way down I wanted to look at the old shooting hut, I have past this dozens of times over the years and never stopped so curiosity was killing me. The sheep have made a good home of it but it was still surprisingly solid and weather proofed. ![]() ![]() ![]() An old swallows nest, there where a few. ![]() The outside loo ![]() And cars ![]() We headed down and saw Dave dti1968 with a group, after a hello we headed to the Hand for a butty and this thing came knocking at my window ![]() Boxclever and daughter Hattiee , good to see you both and JD aka Charlie Unflattering piccy time ![]() From there we went to Splashy Lane, and fantastic views and sun. Neil's car. ![]() ![]() ![]() A clicky video of Neil ![]() Then onto White Stones and the other lane that is mostly tarmac that leads to the A5 and we said our goodbyes I however wanted to stay out so I bobbed down the A5 to Capel Curig and popped into the Tyn-y-Coed for a quick pint to see a friend but he was in France until Tuesday I then headed towards Snowdon to bed down with a few beers and pies. I had Hamburger Hill downloaded on my phone so set that up and the sound via bluetooth through the car stereo gave a surround sound effect and quilt wrapped around me snug as a drunken bug. But this view from my parking area kept me going until movie time. Snowdon ![]() ![]() I woke up to this ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Randoms ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() First butterfly of the year lol ![]() Ste

Re: A North Wales Jolly this weekend?Had an absolutely brill time......thanks to Drifty for navigating. Janet loved every minute of it and was calling out all the big boulders and holes in no time.....could have driven with my eyes shut she was that good. Weather fantastic ....flat calm on the top and pretty mild too. Loads of buzzards very close. Nearly fried me clutch at the start of the wayfarer......it was on its last legs before we started, but held up great with carefull usage. Nearly got stuck only once on splashy lane but got it out before Drifty could get a pic or vid.........you could see the disappointment on his face. I think he thought I wouldn't get through that
Overall a great day with good company. Spent today clearing the gallons of mud off and checking he usual items for water ingress......reporting all clear! Not done the wayfarer for many years and the others were new to me. The funniest time was the mountain biker going arse over tot trying to get around us. Had the dash cam on but he was alongside when it happened Cracking pics on this thread! Got to mention this was in Bag'O'Sh#te no.1 ........the 2.2 Last edited by ghosthunter on Sun Mar 03, 2013 8:48 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Yes that bike was so funny, I just saw two upside down legs in my wing mirror, I must say he took the fall well Ste
