I was putting a new rear axle breather on today whilst I was under the car I noticed that the rear diff is leaking.
So I need to replace the gasket on that but because its a land rover discovery. The prop shaft needs to come off then the half shafts have to be removed then I can remove the diff. As the half sharif are off I might as well replace the rear wheel bearings and the brake discs.

But because of the bad weather has anyone got a garage or workshop that we could use.
As I'm not working at the moment I'm free any day so if you could help let me know what dates are good for you.
I really need the work to be done before the 10th of feb.

I made a start on the rear axle today. Car is now on axle stands with no back wheels

1 Removed the half shafts
2 removed the rear diff **

** I need to replace the Rear diff pinion seal this is where the problem is how do I remove the spigot from the flange it has an 8mm threaded hole in the spigot.

What is the easiest way to remove the bit with the threaded hole.

Get a long 8mm bolt screw it in and the cap comes out then there is a big nut 19mm or21mm I think if you can fined one I would put 200tdi prop on and flange so don't have use the rubber ring

Did a bit more today

1 new wheel bearings
2 new brake disc and pads

I was unable to remove the the spigot from the diff. I use a lot of heat and a 8m bolt to try and pull the spigot but the bolt snapped
So I've just bought a new diff ( new to me) I have to go and pick it up in the morning
