Bloody discovery lolI was driving up to see my mums because she is in hospital. I got about 60 miles into the journey Come off the A14 in Ipswich then I lost all drive to the wheels so tryed the clutch that was fine put the transfer box in to 4l still no drive so tryed the diff lock I had drive again. So limped 40 miles to a bloke in Chelmsford who was breaking a discovery. Bought a half shalf then limped home. Got home to start fixing it.

Re: Bloody discovery lolI suggested that as well Renegade lol.
Always an advantage with Disco's knowing that one is bound to be on EBay near wherever you are being broken. It's like having a 24 hour emergency parts supplier. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: Bloody discovery lolTrue, that does work well, haven't seen any second hand disco body shells though!
Gotta say I'm surprised at the whole CV joint thing though, I though all discos were solid axled at the front! Is it a really new one? "The door won't open."

Re: Bloody discovery lolDisco and Defender front axles are the same. CV is located in the swivel ball and links the inner half shaft to the drive flange (same as a Fronty but totally encased) which inturn is bolted to the outer side of the hub. With out it you wouldn't be able to steer the front axle.
Regards Stuart Remember, keep the greasy side down!
