Re: New carMy 2p worth now.
Why not look at the vauxhall signum? they are well spec'd (some have the fridge in place of the rar middle seat) good mpg's depending on how you drive - can only comment on the v6 diesel though good looking............ish only downside is it wont be 2 years old. As for the fiesta they not that good on fuel if you got a lead foot If it were my money id go for the signum or the passat blue motion If it ain't broke, fix it before it does!! You know it will!!

Re: New carI know Si
This car is costing more than I paid for my first house Ste, funny you posted that as we had one as a curtsey car a couple of months ago, she liked it but found it just a tad too small should we need to load it up and trust me we do so its finding that compromise. We definitely wont be going much past a two year old small engined car. Ste

Re: New car1.6 focus diesel use the same engine as the citroen/pugeot. As are 1.6 volvos mazdas and another car I can't think of. It was the case, not sure if it still is but you recognise the look / sound of a psa 1.6 hdi in a heartbeat drift. Anyone whose had one.... never forgets...

Re: New carYer, one to be scared of
Another contender has appeared on the horizon, a Cleo, from what I can see they have come on a bit in the last couple of years and not to expensive, though I am not aware of any horror stories on them yet I understand those with faults on there cars shout loudest (I have been here long enough Find a techi working on them is the best bet Ste

Re: New carSage advice
Having been around Renaults I'd have to say give the pre 2009/10 generation a miss.. However they really copped on when owners started showing up outside the ceos house with chainsaws and current gen Renaults are surprisingly reliable. The clio 1.5dCi managed, under my backside 70mpg. And the extra weight of the diesel engine made it comfortable. If its something bigger your after the same engined Megane III Hatch 4dr is spacious, easily does 60mpg and retains absolutely none of the nightmare bugs its older siblings were plagued with.... Now the 1.5 is not the most powerful but both the 90 and 110 wiyth six speed boxes will easily maintain motorway speed without guzzling fuel.... Sceinic is just as good but probably a little big. The fluence is ok too but a few of its 5 speed boxes are leaking from the factory. Recall underway. Parking with the big boot is awkward too. My pick from Renaults if looking to keep things small and tidy would have to be the clio, well worth a test drive. Also 1.9tdi Audis that arent cursed with the most unnecessary 4wd system in the world are very frugal! "The door won't open."

Re: New carYup, there havent been any clios in for silly reasons here either. Some stiff gear changes on the 1.2 petrols but the diesels use a different box.

Re: New carI cant believe I am reading this thread
LandcruiserVX all difflocked up with a big dirty diesel running 38" swampers and a £2k budget for a nice-ish little gay car that you can park underneath the TLC so it doesnt use another parking space. Its a no-brainer if you have a brain like mine... EDIT:....Yes I did read your first post, and treated it with the contempt it deserved and then completely ignored it... Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon! Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again... She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body... Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer! MAKE IT or BREAK IT! TEAMXTREME4X4 ![]()

Re: New carNot being funny, and not a downsize really, but I had a 2.2 turbo diesel Mazda 6 estate for a month. Went like a rocket, had all the toys, awesome to drive, and returned 65 mpg, better if driven like a granny. Even had Gregs approval.
Just to add they seem to come in a lot cheaper than their VAG and Ford equivalents. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
