Engine & Gearbox additives

The Molyslip stuff for engines and the one for gearboxes/diffs. Are they any good? I've heard that they can cause build up of sludge and some manufactures like BMW advise not to use them in their engines.

I like the idea of protecting my trucks main components mind so are they any good?
