I think 6ft would have to come through the middle mate....but to get any other fishing gear in it you would need the seat folded forwards in the back, so the rods would kinda sit on the folded seat and be well clear of the gearstick/handbrake etc.
Without the rear seats folded, the sport has the boot space of a supercar...but sadly not the performance!

hi ya and thanks for the replies...
it stands to reason that it will have more room than my pug 206 ...what i do now is fold the front passenger forward and lay the rod bag on that but it blocks the door mirror if i was to do the same thing in the sport how far would it come into the space ..if you get what i mean ...i wonder if i can find one for sale locally and try it ..bit cheeky i know but if it works for me i'll buy it ....i need a front i really miss it ...AL...
i play golf, kitesurfing and scuba, i'm not very good at 2 of them, thank god its not scuba....

Hi,
Why not fit some large bore tubing to the roof rails and put your rods in that like you see some plumbers use for copper pipes?

I used to put my stuff on the roof in a large tube made from a 6"stack pipe with end caps that locked.

hi all....
i had the same idea but the purpose made roof box for fishing rods is near on £500 .....THE GOOD NEWS IS ....i was talking to the engineer at work last night ..to ask him if he knows of anything that is the right size ..i need it about 12" across..
so he offered to make me a chequer plate box for my rods that will be detachable from the roof bars ...now all i gotta do is buy a fronty and four 6ftx1ft lengths of chequer plate...he also mentioned that the yellow gas pipe goes up to 12 and 15 inches ...errmmmmm let me think, a six foot banana on the roof or a nice chequer box......cheerz.....AL...
i play golf, kitesurfing and scuba, i'm not very good at 2 of them, thank god its not scuba....

Why not just get a LWB?
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )

Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck.

hi mate, i originally brought a lwb b series to cart all my carp gear about approx 4 years ago but due to family commitments etc i wasnt going fishing any where near as much so after doing a bit of laning in it i decided to sell it and get an a series swb instead which i use for fishing & laning only. i have i admit taken out the rear seats but they can be folded forwards to the front seats anyway but i can get all my carp gear in easily
WHY AINT I GOT AN ALL SINGING & ALL DANCING SIGNATURE LIKE BOXY & DRIFTY ?

I've just picked up 3 lengths of 2.4 metre 2x2 timber and two sheets of 6x3 plasterboard sheets, all of which fitted in the shorty with the seats folded down :D
