banter general discussions etc

Greg it was meant as a bit of humor After reading your post it reads that i wreak lanes and have no respect for anything??? I can see what your saying, but i cannot see how a bit of humor on a 4x4 forum is panting everyone with the same brush. It would be different if i was driving down a green lane telling all the walkers 'move out the way bobble hat'. We talk alot about green lanes but what about pay and play sites?? I have one a few miles down the road and people want it closed as its an eye sore. Trees have been pulled down and green fields have been turned in to mud. At the end of the day we are never going change the situation between walkers and 4x4 drivers. We can only do are bit when out laning by taking care and not destroying the lanes.

Ste I think Greg thought you made a spelling mistake and in the next paragraph he was mentioning the issues in the thread, pretty sure it wasnt aimed at you (hope not) Ste its the fact others check out forums for ammunition for any cause they deem worthy and if we start being demeaning and talking of groups like they are scum then what does that make us? I firmly believe if we ALL got our backsides into gear we can make an image change, we may not convince those with a steadfast view but new walkers and people using the countryside for the first time are out every single day, why shouldnt we promote ourselves to them and when they get into conversations with anti 4x4'ers they can explain they have had nothing but good experiences when they have met a group of 4x4's on the lanes As for pay and play sites that is totally out of our hands as that is a commercial venture we as users cant do anything about and subject to local planning laws.

I'm going stick my head above the parapet here shoot it off if you want to but we're missing the point as 2 good lanes will be reopened. But read the Peak District web. http://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/news/cur ... urt-rulingIt don't look good for long This is what the protest was about last Sunday! But only a few could be bothered turn up off here. There is getting to much in fighting going on. Some folks are getting like car park attendants give em a fluorescent jacket and a title and there off. For god's sake we're on here for the same reason FRONTY'S. So give over it was a flamin joke That's my little say as it how I'm feeling about things on here at the mo it was/is a fantastic site but seem's to have lost it's way with all the bitch fighting
It might be slow but i can go anywhere!

Every forum has its disagreements once in a while and that's because everyone's personal view is different of which is what helps makes us individuals. For some people it will be political for others it will be a bit of a laugh.
Take the term "pikey" for example. Do you call them a pikey or use their politically correct name of traveller. They got the name pikey due to some of them thieving but is it right to call them all this. No its not but we do as the general consensus is that all travellers are thieving half wit scum that just rob people.
The point is it don't matter who you are if your part of a group you will be viewed as the trouble maker caused by the minority that spoil it. Its up us that care to stand up and say no were not all like that and want them that spoil it to be dealt with. The trouble is most not all but most people are happy to sit back and let others take leadership and stand up and voice their opinions simply because they can't be bothered and unfortunately because of this it comes across as not enough people care from within a group making the point that another group may be making look perfectly viable.

This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ) Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Im thinking after readin a couple of these post that i must be seen as "one of the idiots"? Is this how im seen by certain members?? especially the ones that have never met me? I didnt mean to be degrading in anyway to any party and infact was just posting a jovial headline that was broadcast on a sign on our local news, and as the lanes are local to me im for one am happy that theyre both open again!
