Silly question time

I've just an email enquiring about engine parts. I still have parts from Chirstine the 1998 2.2 petrol
Now the question is will the starter motor and Alternator from an A series fit a B series both are 2.2 petrol's
Plus are the steering column the same on the A & B series

Starter motor is a possible, but not sure...quickest easiest way search new 2.2i starters on ebay and see if everyone lists them for both Andy...

Steering column I would think is different, as B uses a steering rack and A a steering box, so the components down the line will be completely different so I would guess the stuff up top would be different to.
