Hi all! So it seems that it's my turn to beg for the help of the almighty FOG to help turn my truck around from the direction it's heading! :oh yer:

As some of you know I've been making a little list in my head of everything that needs doing on it, and over the last couple of months it's now long enough that I need help.

With thoughts gathered properly,it's just going to be:
- Rear crankshaft seal/oil change
- Fuel pump/sender unit, fuel tank carrier

(Original list
- Rear crankshaft seal, possibly clutch (dependant on condition), oil change
- Fuel pump/sender, fuel filter, fuel tank carrier
- Front brake discs*
- Front right auto-hub**

If time allows, then also:
- Exhaust modification/fitting replacement part (yet to be decided)
- Change diff and gearbox oils
- Refit bullbars: thinking of mounting onto the end of crash limiters/circular tubing on chassis? Would this work/pass an MOT?)

As far as I know I have all the bits necessary, *but I do know the discs I have need linishing before fitting - anyone know of anyone who can do this?! :|
**I daren't trust myself to look at this without supervision :oops:

As for dates, ideally would anyone be free this coming Sunday 28th? If not I'll need to catch a bus/cycle 50mile a day for the week and make it Sunday 4th November?

Refreshments and bacon can be supplied, but any tools/jacks (I only have 1!) needed would be required.
If you can think of anything I need to do to prep please let me know - I'm not a complete fool, but I'd like to minimize the number of bolts we need to grind off if I can!

Watcha Pete - I know it's easy for me to say and it's your pennies, but if your going to the extent of taking your gearbox off, would it not be a worthwhile changing the clutch regardless? Is your clutch giving you grief? Is the clutch bit point right up to the top of pedal? If 'yes' then for the £80 mark you can get hold of a new complete clutch kit. If 'no', it's alot of work to fix something that's not broken.

Before you do all that, check you haven't got symptoms of the dreaded bulkhead split.

I love it when a plan comes together, but this time I think I've screwed up and bitten off more than I can chew - ie. too much for one day!

Thanks for the advice Pete, very valid points and will check my bulkhead later today! All advice is useful, even if just for future info :)
And Ratcav, no worries and hope all's well :)

So with a minimal response it's just going to be:

Pete - if your doing the rear crankshaft seal, surly that means gearbox off, clutch off and finally flywheel off to get at the seal. Sounds a bit major to me in a day. Are you in a serious position with lose of engine oil through the seal? Chances are if it's that bad, the clutch plate would have got contaminated so it would swing you back to a clutch change anyway.
If it's only minimal with no serious clutch slip etc or engine oil lose, would it just be worthwhile keeping an eye on the oil level and live with it - I know it sounds ye ha put might save you a load of agg until it becomes really necessary some time in the future - who knows it might be many moons in the future.
