I think the fuel pump has now gone on my 307 , i did my morning shift driving round in Tara after spending 20 mins trying to get my car to start outside one of my clients at 7.30 this morning!

Has anyone done a fuel pump on one of these? is it impossible ? not relishing yet another garage bill for her considering she's for sale

i think its the fuel pump anyway doesnt sound like fuel getting through, sometimes starts first time other it turns over and over and eventually starts this morning was the longest it took @ 20 mins so im now thinking i shouldnt be driving her in case it fails completely

Tara got mud tyres on and too thirsty so i cant be driving her round my rounds for ever ill end up paying them for me to work!

Crack off one of the fuel lines after the pump to the injector (only slightly crack off - do NOT undo completely). If fuel is NOT being sprayed out from the cracked off line this will give an indication that the pump is NOT pumping the fuel through. If fuel is getting sprayed then you know the pump is going it's job.
If fuel is not being sprayed checked that fuel is being pumped as far as the pump to confirm that the pump is the problem.

My last van did that last year, turned out to be a dodgy injector. Still skint me a few quid on a garage bill, although i looked @ the positive side
..............not as much as a pump!!

If its a 307 hdi do not crack the fuel pipes of because if it isnt the fuel pump u will have 180bar of pressure and it fires up 1600bar even the pipe being loose that pressure cud kill u. Cud u give me more info on car engine size fuel age

sorry ive been working none stop for what feels this entire week


few months ago she had new fuel lines ( manny if u remember at camp i said about anti pollution fault well it was a leaky fuel pipe then was the cause)

its not my fuel pump this time as i first thought as weve checked and there is fuel getting into the lines, but i do have air/bubbles in my fuel lines again . someone wants to buy her so ive booked her at the garage who did the fuel lines in the morning. dreading it, last thing i need is another garage bill

she's a 1.4 hdi 2004 reg , and tbh has given me hell over the last year she might be a dream to drive but really has been the bain of my life since last Christmas!

Took her to garage friday all the way 35 mins up the road in bury , well the dam thing started perfect , i got a dam puncture so they repaired that , and home , she drove perfect all day and i even had a tiny doubt about selling her!!!

Go to this morning , SHE FREAKING STOPPED STARTING AGAIN! im so annoyed, garage couldnt do anything friday as she was foot perfect

and again, someone was going to have her today and now i dont dare ring about arrangements as i dont want to sell a dodgy starting car

dunno what the blinking hell to do , i think im going to have to trade her in and loose hundreds as im just at my whits end

sounds like a dodgy relay rather than mechanical failure if it was mechanical ie pump/injectors it wouldnt run. although the 1.4 engine isnt normally a bad one but is a nightmare to work on
