Hi Guys
May I pick your brains

Driving to work this morning, and my RNS wheel fell off !!! The acutal wheel came off the studs !!! I have a horrible feeling someone has loosened the nuts last night on my drive......as Ive been touring around cornwall in here no issues and the PIR lights on the front of my house have been disabled ;(

So damage appears to be, alloy, tyre, brake disc/pads, side step, mud flap, bumper, inner plastic slash guard, paint damage (in sure you get the idea)

Im about to make a claim on the insurance...........would they repair ? if they were to write it off, how much would Market Value be ????

i'd say anywhere between £1000 and £1500 mate, perhaps a little more with it going through insurance

The question is though, would the insurance pay out?

I can see them trying to argue that it's a lack of routine mantenance that caused the accident, unless you can prove that someone purposely loosened the nuts.
I think you might have a bit of a fight on your hands with these slippery insurance bar stewards.

As for value, looking at auto trader, anywhere between £1500-£2000

I think you will all be suprised .... Ive just been sat talking to my mate, he works for an insurance company, we wer asking about policies for multiple vehicles and cover, he was telling me how the company he works for and many others are begining to clamp down on various things and he said theyve been given Glasses Guides now for car values, which means they can decide how far to go???

I wouldnt claim.
I would get the work done myself or do it myself.
Your insurance will go up stupidly for 5 years as its your responsibility to make sure any vehicle you drive is road worthy before every trip.
Sounds harsh but they will use that line and you will get penalised for it

Oh, they would write the car off as uneconomical to repair as the parts and labour new would cost more than the cars worth.
