Honda Jazz/Frontything?

I know this one has been here before but thought Id ask if anyone has some info on the 4x4/running gear and suspension setup on this Jazz I'm thinking of trying a few cheeky bids

That's interesting. A 3.1 troop engine with front mounted intercooler. I'd be interested in the interooler and pipework if you dont need them

I'd be looking to use this one as my daily driver as I break my 2.8 at the end of this month. Just saw it on ebay and reckoned thats a nice twist on the Fronty. If I win it it will eventually be broken but probably only early next year when I need it for bits for the MU

I was just wondering if the 4WD was set up the same as a fronty with auto lockers

It doesnt have an intercooler at all so you could get a few more horses out of it

Its a Honda Passport based on the Isuzu Mu (Mysterious Utility). Trooper 3.1 non-intercooled 4JG2. Trooper axles and Mk.I trooper SWB chassis. Chances are its also got a rear LSD as most of them were fitted as standard. It also has aircon. That means that you will struggle to fit a front mounted intercooler (from say a Frontera) as the air-con condenser sits in front of the radiator leaving no room, and there isn't enough room to fit a top mounted intercooler as the bonnet sits too low. Top mounted intercoolers have been retro fitted to the Mu in the past, but you have to get creative with a grinder and the bonnet then fabricate a scoop.

Honda took the Mu and rebadged it. You will struggle to find parts for the MU and they tend to be expensive ... unless you know that a lot of them are actually Trooper bits

BTW those alloys are as rare as hens teeth and came in two sizes of 15" and 16". The yanks pay good money for them to fit onto their Troopers. They are the Isuzu pepperpot.

It doesnt mention aircon so you may well get away with a front mounted one

I think I'll shove a top mounted one on if I need to. I've got the scoop from the other MU. Plan to remove the bling chrome bumper and steps as well. I'm not really a fan of chrome

No G80 on the vin but having said that there is no G80 on the MU VIN either. Must be because they are imports. I'll get underneath her in the next few days and have a look

funnily enough the wench showed me that honda jazz thing, looks like you got a good buy there mate. Now you have so many you may as well sell the 2.8 to me

Mine is an import ... it has G80 on the VIN. Worth checking though. Sometimes they didn't put it on.
