Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'I was using biodiesel from enfuels (http://www.enfuels.co.uk) which trashed my fuel pump on my 2.8.
ROADS? WHERE WERE GOING WE DON'T NEED ROADS!!
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'i was thinking the other day when i first started to drive i could fill a plastic petrol can for £3 but now i run a small garden and grounds maintenance company the same quantity costs me around £7 its difficult for people to understand how much it actualy costs for people like myself to run a business. if i had diesel lawnmowers, chainsaws strimmers etc i could use red diesel and not pay so much duty but as its unleaded petrol i have to pay duty as a road fuel yet i'm not using it as a road fuel.
plus i am not connected to mains electricity and i use a generator for power i also pay fuel duty as a road fuel but i dont drive the generator down the m1 do i. none of it makes sense
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'Thats the issue Phil, the veg oil attacks the rubbers in the pump, my thinking/hoping was properly produced Bio would be okay but seems you are witness to it not being so
I am popping 400ml of mineral 2stroke oil in my fuel at the moment to replace the lack of sulphur in modern fuels and this could be the issue with Bio and veg fuels? midlandgardencare , is your home genny using heating oil? I have read but not sure used hydrolic oil could be used to power some genny's but I would check before use that as gospel. Ste

Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'hi drift, my name is matt
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'i looked into diesel generators but i was put off because the decibel ratings of the diesel ones are far higher than their petrol counterparts and i've moved into the caravan so i can hear the generator through the walls
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'ive just been doing some late night (early morning) reading and this guy http://www.dieselbob.co.uk/vegetable.aspx lists types of injector pumps that in their past experiences are better or worse on straight veg oil and on proccessed bio diesel. ive just been out to the frontera and from what i can see it has ve 585 stamped in the side of it but leaning over with a torch its difficult to see but to me it doesnt look exactly the same as the ve pump pictured on his site it looks more like the BOSCH EDC/ZEXEL COVEC injector pump he lists as being based on the ve pump i'll be having another look in daylight but which one is the better pump or are they both equals?
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'Its a bit late and I admire your tenacity
Yup Diesel Bob is a great site and reciprocates us with a link on their site Ste

Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'ive got to stay up as next doors generator has broken so ive offered for her to share mine for the night and she's watching a film that doesnt finish till gone half 2. and i lock the generator away at night for added security. theres nothing wrong with the engine, pump or injectors but i'm just pre-planning just incase. i work most things as i do with the business i'd rather enter a situation slowly with both eyes open and the facts and figures to hand than jump in blind! there would be no crap from the fuel lines as they are 3 day old nylon lines. there are flexi hoses that go from the nylon to the filter then to the pump and from the pump to the return hose i have no idea if they are natural rubber if so i'll need to change them to go onto biodiesel.
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'ive had a response from a supplier a few miles away from me and he supplies b100 so 100% biodiesel for £1 a litre i'm going to get about 50 litres and start off with 20 litres bio to 60 litres derv and adjust based on how the truck runs. i'll be getting a spare injection pump and i'll get a diesel garage to re-build it and make sure its all bio friendly. as i said above ive found diesel bobs website and he really does seem to know what he is on about.
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'i ran the frontera on straight bio for 3 months without any problems, ive now switched back to derv after a falling out with the bio supplier. he makes it to order and i ordered 100 litres on the wednesday and agree'd collection friday but when i called friday morning to collect he said he needs a few days because he sold my 100 litres to someone else (even though i had ordered it)
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'i ran my 2.5 frontera on bio an had no issues i have done over a 1000 miles in my 2.8 on bio and it run as normal

Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'ive been trying to find another supplier but if its over £1 a litre then its hardly worth bothering with unless its local. and its in short supply as the oil companies are buying it up as bio is too threatening to their derv operations.
Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'at the moment im getting it for 80p the other guy is wanting 1.25pl its hardly worth buying at that price he may find himself out of business real soon diesel is 1.36 its notreally a worth while saving any more

Re: Morrisons B30 Bio-Diesel 'Here we go'i was paying £1 a litre but driving 20 miles out of my way to collect it. im now running derv as i only really use the frontera to tow the caravan now.
