Been looking gents ! Is it me or do you have to 2ft 3 to get in the back of 1 of them traffics !!! ????

take it you guys are on about the old shape sprinters pre 57 not after the newwer shape we have 3 58 plates 311ci and they stuggle to pull them selfs along the road i have the fastest in the fleet and 79 is its limit 6 speed bo that feels like it needs another 2 gears the others max out at 75 and that was when we got them at 10,000 miles full merc service dont get me wrong the interior is better and a bit more cofortable but overall worse then the old ones and the boss regrets buying them cos they cost a furtune to repair wiper blades ??????????? £80+vat for a pair

Arent most big vans being " governed" now to limit their speed??But yes pre 57 sprinters are good. Just don't buy the vans I used to run cos they were properly abused.

Have you considered the Iveco?? Big and cheap although build quality is a little dodgy they pulled like trains and were huge inside.

All vans bigger than say an Escort van are now covered by reduced speed limits. Been that way for years now.

Sorry by "governed" I meant restricted as opposed to the legal speed limit

they only have speed limiters fitted if requested by the owner / purchaser ie royal mail /ups our vans have to run on digi tachos due to whieghts any thing running over 3.5 tonnes gross whight has to have one fitted unless its for private use only and by 3.5 tonnes i mean van at 3.5 tonnes gross whieght plus trailer of any whieght = over 3.5 tonnes means tacho its a right pain in the with checks that have to be made daliy to show vosa you are fit to travel on a public highway bsiclly if you dont check your lights at the start of the day and have a record of checks will cost you £250 in fines per fault i have a hgv and come from a very large family af lorry drivers and for any one out there that dont know any thing over 2 tonnes has a speed limit of 50 mph on single carrigeways basiclly a van or larger apart from artics they are only 40 which 90 % of car drives donot know this and get mardy when following one but back to the vans its 50 mph not has previosly thought by many and some still think it to be 60 mph even tho we all travel at this or above hope this helps

oh and forgot not only do you have to comply with working hours directive you also have to comply with drivers hours directive
