sad news that today - 11 May 2012 - Carroll Shelby has passed away at the age of 89 after being hospitalised for pneumonia. A true automotive legend.

The man had true vision! R.I.P.

That is sad news, I met him at Le Mans a few years ago he was signing posters of the blue print for the Cobra.

There was a massive que due to the fact he spent a few minutes talking to everyone who wanted a poster and did not just scribble his name on it and say next.

There is a good chance they will have a 2 minute silence before the star of this years race as a mark of respect for a true legend.

On the down side he was responsible for our 70mph speed limit on motorways but hey ho I'm sure we can forgive him for that .
