Operation workshop expansion is now officially started!
The plan over the next few months is to, concrete the dirt bit down the middle (approx 1/3 either side is concreted already) and then roof the area between my current workshop and the next buildings, creating a new "dirty" workshop measuring approx 17metres x 7 metres...
This will then connect the new building to the existing workshop via an new door which will go in the side, the new building containing an office, a fabrication and workbench area, and a storage area for parts from stripped cars. This building is 30ftx20ft and to give flexibility it was decided to add vehicle access as well, so I could get a car or two in there as need be as well as the office and fab area.
This will then leave the existing workshop much emptier and for painting only...which make it much easier to keep clean.
So today we removed a section of the wall after shunting the wrecker and jims shorty out...cue stihl diskcutter and sledge hammers after removing the cladding...

Looking out of the new 'ole...

Dazza bring tea

Door frame in and new doors fitted, fashioned from a wider than standard garage door and reinforced.

and all closed up...apart from the top bit which is getting a flip up separate section to enable tall stuff to get in if needed..

Then we shunted everything back and called it a day!

Should be good when its all done, loads of room, and no clutter as everything will have a proper place to go. Currently I fight myself for space and this makes every job more difficult and time consuming. This is gonna be my new livelihood so I need to get it right and have room to work, so its gotta be done.
Any way thought I would post up whats occuring with the place, and will update as it as the expansion progresses.
