Re: sneak peak at ratcav's paint jobWell I haven't seen him since last Sunday.
I am assuming he is still in the land of the living, albeit "Zombieland", as the plates of food I leave out are gone in the morning.....unless Roma is getting peckish in the night. He may return at some point???????
Re: sneak peak at ratcav's paint jobIf last years anything to go by you won't see him till he comes to pick you up on his way to the annual
Traffic lights in London are just rough guidelines
Re: sneak peak at ratcav's paint jobThis is very true Paul...it is a bit like deja vu.....except it will be to pick up food and beer as sadly I will not be attending the Annual.
Re: sneak peak at ratcav's paint jobI am really sorry Sal

Re: sneak peak at ratcav's paint jobNo worries Neal....
He loves it and yes, he's used every power tool and I've had the computer and TV to myself...... He's getting to his favourite bit now....PAINTING and DESIGNING.....
Re: sneak peak at ratcav's paint jobGregster does some awesome designs going by his photos. Ive got myself a solid spare wheel cover and Im thinking of getting Gregster to put the FOG logo on it,once he has finished all the jobs he has got to finish first.

Re: sneak peak at ratcav's paint jobJust caught up with this thread again, thanks for all your encouragement, Sally had be relaying your posts to me....
All donedidded...had sleep now to which has helped me to feel more "normal" again...that and a shower! Banchee's all sorted, needs a bit more flat polishing which will be sorted along with a couple of retouches at a later date. Looks a million times better than it did and the carnage and rust on it is a gonna. gotta say this was a biatch colour to paint, showed everything as its so dark, and used a lot more base coat to get coverage than expected. Had to formulate a ground coat from some BMW boston green and some other stuff I had lurking to try and get better coverage. This car fought me to the very end...it aint often that I hit the barrier so to speak, but the final day of this had me tight-roping along the top of it. This is a cracking truck for its age though, deffo well worth saving and Neals commitment to getting it right is commendable. Was all worth it to see his grin when fitting it up! Re: sneak peak at ratcav's paint jobI have to say that Gregster has done Banshee proud. She looks brand new and the body kit (effin thing) really adds to the look. Before the kit she did look a bit out of proportion. She is a tall vehicle with the ice cream van roof, but the 4" wide arch flares make her look far more in proportion now.
It was 2 weeks ago she went to the workshop and she fought every step of the way till we finished putting the last bits of trim on. Greg you are a star. A real credit to the group and your work is astounding. When you consider she is 22 years old and has had a hard life. Well over 70 odd dents (only 4 of them mine) and spurious awkward to get to rust patches that just seemed to crop up when you least expect it. Greg and I have been talking to each other most days about new issues and progress (with new issues coming in thick and fast and progress going slowly). There are a few things that need finishing like some panels that need final flattening (the lacquer decieded to go a bit funny) and the bumpers too knackered to repairable. Apart from that she looks amazing. She is back to her original colour (not blue/white with ice cream cones on top) which so far everyone who has seen her has commented is nothing to how they always imagined. "I thought she was black/grey" was mentioned most often. Even Greg thought I was mad to back to the original colour as he thought I had the opportunity to get creative and choose something different and unique. Only when he saw it in the light on the truck did he admit I was right and the colour I chose was a good one. I will take some pictures and post some teaser shots, but the final thing won't be seen until the annual BIG THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING Ok the following needs to be said for a variety of reasons. Greg As said, you sir are a star. You have done Banshee a sterling job. She looks like she has just rolled out of the dealership showroom. Your time and dedication to this project has been second to none and I cannot thank you more. As you said she has a good deal of sentimental value to me, and my late stepdad (Martin who imported her in 1999 before I got her just over a year ago after his passing) would not of been able to thank you enough. I know he loved her as much as I do and I know he would be proud to call you a friend. RobFog Many many thanks for getting me to and from the workshop buddy. Then staying late to help work on her. Then there was the general banter and moral support to both myself and Greg on this epic journey. Without you this would of been so much more difficult. If there is anything you need help with then just give me a shout. I am but a phone call away. Davetheraveuk Cheers buddy. I know you popped down once or twice to help Greg out with some jobs that needed an extra pair of hands, and possibly to keep Greg going Gregsters Boss Well you have Greg back again so you won't have the house and TV to your own. Thank you for allowing him to stay out late and get this job done. It turned out to be a far bigger project than first thought, and your patience is muchly appreciated. Mrs RatCav I have to include Chloe here as she has to put up with me and my crazy plans and schemes when it comes to my vehicles. Disappearing for hours on end and spending the decorating money on Banshee. Cheers honey. Any one else This is to anyone else who had anything to do with this that I have forgotten or didn't know about. For what-ever you did I thank you. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
