New v6Hi guys have just updated my old 2.3 TD which Iv had for 8 years for a 3.2 v6. I was sorry to see the old girl go as it never let me down and started first and everytime, however as i could,nt find another decent diesel iv had to go for the v6. I bought this off a guy in Lancing but it was only owned by him for a couple of months and was originally owned by a FOC member up in Nottingham before this. If any one knows who the original owner was please can you let me know. Its silver been uprated with a 2" body lift and 1 1/2" susupention lift and the reg is V74 ***. Just having the cambelt and aux belt changed and a general service. Is there anything that i should particulaly look out for which could be a future problem. Engine is on 63000 miles and runs as sweet as.
Re: New v6I've got a good idea who that previous owner was. I will PM him with a link to this thread matey.
Re: New v6cheers box clever,
Just wanted to see if he had any problems with it and if he did the lift job on it.
Re: New v6That will be my old one then mate, can i have it back please!!

Re: New v6Thanks for the info gents, Loving the new V6 already and after the old 2.3 it feels like an F1. Was a bit concerned about the fuel consumption but after a 109 mile coast run to get it back here through Brighton, Eastbourne and Folkstone it still only used a 1/4 of a tank.
Re: New v6hi clive you should find round town you get 18-20 to the gallon and on a run 25-30 if you being gentle with the peddle.
i run mine on lpg so its cheap as hell to run as i get 50-60 miles to a tenner not 30 but youll find that once you at speed just level off on the pedal and the consumption is not as scarey lol but having tried a 2.2 lwb a series i would never go for anything less these things drive like normal cars and if you want to be naughty like hot hatches. especially from a standstill lol no the mud in the air box is a common feature on the v6s we use it to stop it pulling wheelies cheers

Re: New v6well Dean im up your part of the country in a couple of weeks as im seeing my parents in Newark. Was going to use my Skoda vrs which will get 40 mpg if i dont use the loud pedal too much which aint bad for a turbo petrol, but will definatly be taking the beast up this time and will see what we get out of it.
P.S have a bulb gone on the dashboard for the speedo. As i have no manual yet do's anyone know the easy way to change it. I see there are 2 screws at the top of the pinnicle but there must be more??
Re: New v6I only used it abit bud but yes i did use it! thats what its built for and as i live in the peak it was bought for that to,hence i did it properly and welded the spacers in just to make sure.. its quite good on fuel for a v6 n i checked it all over before buying and selling it! you shouldnt have any problems with it at all. Before you start taking out the dash n changing bulbs, just read through the posts on here as some people have had problems with these starting and running again after attempting this!! im not saying this will happen to you its just something to be aware of!

Re: New v6you beat me to it danny over the duff bulb but i think nigels had other issues with that random wire.
do a search on here there is a manual or you can down load the one i use from in this folder just click on it open the 48mg pdf then click save in your options [linkurl=https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=f9064852ee9c7fba&resid=F9064852EE9C7FBA!918&parid=root]manual pdf[/linkurl] i do have a spare bulb and let me know when your coming you can pop in for a cuppa and chinwag my doors always open to fronty owner lol it should be a simple job to change the bulb just be genlte to only lean your clocks forward so you move any of the connectors then just grab the back of the bulb and twist it out and swap it for a new one. you could always have halfords do it as then if it wont start there job to get it running again lol they only charge a few quid for fitting bulbs near me try your local superstore and ask them lol cheers
