I only ever use FAI Executive Jets when I need to go shopping in New York.....the rest of the time I do my weekly shop with a 14 year old SWB Fronty Sport, well I suppose we all have to economize where we can

I have just fitted an FAI timing belt kit to my Trooper. NSK bearings and Goodyear belt. Top quality in other words.

Dunno about their gaskets though.

Hmm.. I was looking at the rear crank seal at the bottom, quite a bit cheaper than the stealers have quoted

Back in the day when I worked on rally cars, we always went to our bearing suppliers for any seals we needed, all they wanted was the old one to match, or OE part number ...we never bothered to go to the main stealer's...what for they don't manufacture bearings or seals and your paying way over the top

Rear crank seal from VX is around £16 when I got a quote for my 2.8 ... but that was trade. Either way do you really want to run the risk of having to do the job again if it busts 500 miles after doing the job.

Have you tried Isuzu if its for a 2.8.

This is why I was asking if the FAI stuff is any good. The way these things seem to work I wouldn't have been surprised to see someone post saying the OEM ones are made by them

I tried the local Isuzu dealers and the bloke was a right cock. He said he was certain that the Isuzu version was different than the Vauxhall version and that I shouldn't listen to what people on 'some website' had told me and that if I wanted the part he would order it, but I would have to pay for it in advance and he would make it clear on the receipt that I wasn't using it for it's intended purpose and as such there would be no warranty. I wasn't impressed.

Of course if one of you trade types wants to get me one and post it I wouldn't object

If someone with a working copy of EPC (mine crashed) can get the VX part number you can use that to get a price from Isuzu.

Already did (see previous post). Isuzu want £44 for it, which isn't bad, but I'm not sure I want to give my money to a place that treats it's customers so badly

Have you been to Vauxhall dealers in Southport?
I got something off then ages ago (cant remember what it was) for the 2.8 and was very supprised how cheap it was, in an Isuzu bag too

fai are ok parts. and also probably manufacture the seal that vx extort a fortune for. pretty sure i used fai when i rebuilt my topend
