hi all

well i finally have found a frontera will post more on that tomorrow

need a bit of help on insurance

i currently have an astra in my name and insured fully comp with just me on the policy with swiftcover
i want to keep this policy as i will still be using the astra for work now and then

so i need to insure the frontera i will be the owner of the car so my question is

can i have 2 insurance plicys in my name for 2 different cars i own ? will i be able to use my no claims bonus on both cars ?
and does anyone know an insurance company that will insure the frontera for off road /greenlaning ?

Well, congratulations on finding a Fronty you liked...

Right, answers then.
There's no problem with having 2 separate insurance policies for 2 cars, that's quite a normal thing.
Generally though, your no claims bonus can only be applied to one vehicle at a time. If you've only been insuring one vehicle 'til now, and have been earning no claims on it, then you can either use it on the Astra, or your Fronty. Which vehicle are you likely to use the most??

There's actually a few insurance companies who will deal with Fronteras; cover for greenlaning shouldn't be an issue whoever though.
A greenlane is a right of way, like any other road - you ned tax, MOT & insurance to drive them still. Pay and play sites are a little different though and you'll have to check on whether they're covered.

I have my car insured, mods and all, through Noel Dazely; the policy is issued by Highway, part of LV. Costs me about £300 for the year, fully comp.
Adrian Flux is another, and other members will be able to make their own recommendations.

Im with Highway and it cost me 299.00 for this year with green laning & off roading cover free for my 2.4i.

You can split your NCB and have some on both policies. But if you go back to one vehicle you can't put your NCB back together as one if you get what I mean.

i rang swift cover today and they have applied my NCB to both my current car and the frontera its on 2 different policy's but shares the NCB. good price aswell
i asked about green laneing and they said you would be covered as its classed as a public highway ? but would not be covered for pay and play days

so all in all im happy just a wait now to collect the frontera
