Anyone help fit a clutch?Bit of a long shot as there don't seem to be many members in the NE of Scotland, but anyone out there fancy helping to fit a new clutch to my 2.2? I say 'help', but really, you'd be doing the clever stuff and I'd be looking and learning. Anyone? Please? Bacon rolls and tea supplied and even home made cake...

Re: Anyone help fit a clutch?Just a thought and not prying - but have you got any fit/strong mates, that with guidance from here, could help lift the box off for you.
Then perhaps, again with help from here, peeps could talk you through how to do the actual clutch change. Very doable if you've got the right tools.
Re: Anyone help fit a clutch?Hmmm, got an apprentice who used to work on his Landys years back. Also got access to a hydraulic lift if that would be advantageous?
What tools would I need, and using the Haynes spanners guide, is this a 1,2,3,4 or 5 spanner job in terms of difficulty? I can change the clutch on a Tiger Cub, does that help? Rat, don't say that in jest or I'll be at your door before you know it lol
Re: Anyone help fit a clutch?Various sockets and spanners - probably 15, 17 and 19mm - extension bars then smaller sockets to remove gear levers and prop shafts. Then a clutch alignment tool - cheap enough of ebay.
You would need a bar support arrangement with wooden blocks to support and swing the box back once it's been unbolted from the engine. Do you have inside covered facilities to work on the motor? Come on Foggers - looks like we've got a damsel in distress thats willing to have a go and needs an advisory helping hand here Not 100% sure if your motor as got a DMF or not. If your flavour does, then not a problem if it's OK but may mean another line of attack.
