Re: Braveheart is sickHE'S UP AND RUNNING !!!!!!
Thanks for that John, but as Robbie says its the other one bud. So, finished the rebuild today and i used one of the blanking plugs fitted to the new heads to bung up the hole where the sender goes. Changed the oil and filter, new fuel filter and primed the fuel system. Closed my eyes and perked up my ears, and turned the key. After a few revolutions to build up the compressions, and away he went. Started up nice and smoothly with no initial rough running, or any fumes out the back what soever. Running like a dream and sounding great. Bled the cooling system and allowed the engine to heat up, while checking for any leaks. Once it had heated up, i switched it off and did a thorough check. It would seem i have a very small bubble appearing now and then at the base of number 3 injector, so i'll retorque it tomorrow when i do the head bolts again. Other than that, all is fine. Chuffed to bits now, but i wont be running far in it until i source a new temp gauge sender unit, just to make sure it doesn't overheat without me realising. I'll get a "How to" done in a day or two once everything is completed and all the tools are cleaned and put away again. Thanks again for all the interest and support guys. Regards, Keith.
