Does anyone know what happened to the Nissans used as back up vehicles ?
I think they where preprepared by Frog Island?

As in what happened to them once the expedition was finished?

I seem to recall one of the support cars was heavily damaged on the Steppe but kept going to the end of the trip - itmay have ended up in the bin afterwards.

Either Total Off Road and/or 4x4i magazines carried a feature on them - will try and see if I stillhave he mags carrying the stories which I think focused more on the preparation of the vehicles.

Yer what happened after the trip, I saw the TOR write up but it didnt mention their fate.

probably the same fate as the top gear's arctic expedition trucks, just left in some random place in iceland or put on display

I did a bit of searching and OW56JCZ is still on the insurance database so its still about.

They had one at the 4x4 show a couple of years back.

Every so often the truck appears at my local Nissan dealers on display, i just thought they moved it around the country to different dealers.

Just been looking into it for you, one still seems to be owned by Nissan UK and is used as a promotional vehicle but theres some confusion over the second as some suggest it was donated to Unicef and shipped abroad but can't find any confirmation of that.....

Have found a forum "Patrol 4x4.com", which appears to be Australia based in which a contributor suggests (in 2008) that one was kept by Nissan and the other keptn either by the "Long Way" team or the 4wd workshop.
