I have my rover advertised on auto trader and I'm getting sick to death of the idiots that think you're stupid enough to fall for their paypal scam. (you know the one where they say they are working away so they'll pay you by paypal and arrange to collect the car, they then send you a paypal link, which looks very real, so that they can then get your password as some people are stupid enough to log in using this link, then u find they've actually taken money out).
Paypal seriously need to do something like the banks do. Where you only put letters of your password that they ask for (so u never enter your full password) AND my bank have now given u a gridcard and they ask for 3 grid references.

had the same problem myself,i was looking for a new caravan and found a few going very cheap on vivastreet,when you try to ring them the phone number is dead so you have to email then,they then get back to using a @btsend email address saying they will deliver the van to you after you pay them via paypal from a private listing on ebay,again they say you cant view the van as they are working away in scotland,the easy way to tell if these ads are a scam is the phone number,all the scam ads begin with 01 for london,but london should be 02.

Sorry, but I would only pay on collection. And if the phone doesnt work or they send a pp link then the deal would be off before it started.
Scammers should be subjected to a bit of medieval justice when caught, I can see no reason for not bringing back a bit of a hanging followed by resusitation, say every day for a week or two, nicely topped off with a slow public disembowelment while theyre still awake of course and then chop up whats left and feed the bits to the fish. This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered  )Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you....
