HELP NEEDED 3.2 v6 engine swap !!possible spanner day!!

hi guys

having looked at my options i can get a new v6 lump for £400 with 60 day warranty just need to see if i can some willing participants to help with the right kit needed to lift one of the beasts in and out.

so any help would be greatly welcomed as i need to find a hoist and gantry to get the old engine out and stripped before i go up to hull to pick the new lump up. so any help you guys can offer i would be grateful.

will have an endless supply of bacon butties and hot and cold refreshments if something can be organsied and if you bring your usb memeory sticks a large library of the lastets films HD available

just had a mobile welder pop up and reweld the down pipe back together for £35 so that was nice touch and he might need a website building so another touch.

any way found out why the eninge wouldnt sit right we had the guide olives in the engine and in the gearbox that was why it would not line up as the two olives where fighting each other have removed them now just going to put the torque convertor back in the gearbox and slide the new baby home.

with a bit more success hopefully.



drinks on me when we meet next have almost got an ok from madame and as long as the green permits will be up on the beach just need to see what else this needs

hope you get it sorted dean i would of been back but i start my 7 night shifts tonight .but with luck you should get it back in and started

got the top to bolts in and lined up the bottom just seems an inch to far out and just donest want to close up because of the alingment downels things that stick out the engine. so just got a longer nut and tighteningt it up slowy in an attempt to force it shut and hope it pops when they line up.

just trying to get it bolted down for now and then sort the wiring out for the rest of it later

the bolts for the gearbox feel like i am forceing it as it wont mate up as i do them it is getting closer but i cant turn the the torque convertor so i think something is wrong even when i put the thing into neutuarl it still wont turn. been 20 years since i last bolted one of these back together an my memeory is saying it shouldnt be like this.

do you know if bobby is free at the weekend as i can just work on getting the rest of it done and try dropping the gearbox with help as it doesnt feel right as i cant seem to crack the nuts on the gearbox cross member tight as a mother.

unless anyone else can come over and then i can get the engine on it mounts and done up and then put the gearbox back to it afterwards.

as going to undo the bolts so i dont do any more damage and try and drop the gear box off

Hi bud unfortunatly im busy this weekend but i was just going to ask have you used the original flywheel so that the gearbox can mate properly as the manual flywheel is diferent?

yep we swaped the fly wheels and removed the spigot bearing when rob was here then today i pulled the nippel space from the old bearing holder of the old engine. then removed the mounting guides as had one set in engine and one in gearbox only noticd when liftied lump out this morning to swap nipple holder for the convertor.

then when got it all back in would not go so dropped the convertor on to gear box and lined up the both enough to get two top bolts then been nothing but hell the bottom ones where 2 inch out so put longer one int to pull it closer and closer but sounded lke the bolts wanted to snapp whne got it down to less than an inch so backed them all off apart from the top to lifted the engine again and now trying to attach the flywheel bolts to the convertor to see if it will line the convertor up so it slots one to the gearbox any easier.

cant drop the gearbox before you say the 6 bolts holding the corss member where done up by the hulk as i cant shift them. so no simply route of droping the gearbox and then jacking it back on afterwards.

trying all the right things just taking forever as working on my own with a 3.2 lump
