Am I mad?

OK Peeps,
Have had banger a week now, I have managed about 250 miles in her without her missing a beat, I have flushed coolant and checked oil of which she has not used any. The only thing that has been annoying is the ns front squeek which settles on a run. She starts first time every time. Now would I be MAD to take her on a 220 mile journey to devon on monday for our holiday? i have just taken out greenflag recovery to be on safeside but part of me still wonders if having had car for a week it might be pushing it a bit too soon what do you guys think?

cheers greg that was what i was thinking, am planning to stop at stonehendge to split journey up have a little rest etc. just wondering if im asking too much of a 16 year old car although its supposedly only got 116000 on the clock. LOL @ Krusher there no danger of that it certainly not spritely, thanks Roo.

Ive just bought a sport and its a towing car only, its got 2 jobs to do, one to tow me caravan in June for 100 miles, then shes towing 400 to the depths of cornwall.

I have faith.

Forgot to say, its not being used as a daily car, its parked up now and will be ran once a week till its duties.

use my 16 year old sport for everything even carted it to morocco,,,,out of all my cars its the most reliable,,,,you got green flag,,,,no worries,,,, ,

Mine did Southampton to Amsterdam and back in a weekend back in November towing a big trailer, despite having barely moved for months...
Left Friday teatime, got back wee hours of Monday, and the Bus was doing better'n her pilot,

If you've got the AA cover, just in case, keep an eye on vital fluids (oil, water, cuppa for the driver) and she'll be right...

nah, your not mad..but i know what you mean..every journey sometimes feels like it could be the last one..

got mine from liverpool to peterborough then to avalanche and back without any hiccups, dispite the fact it wasn't really as healthy as i would have liked...including running around up here i've done just over 800miles in two weeks, in a not so well fronty..just drive her carefully and she'll be fine..ie..no racing pugs off the lights or chasing landy's down the motorway, just to prove your fronty is a better motorway car..

Thanks guys, I will endeavor to sort out putting pics on here at some point, Have made my mind up to take Betty ( Betty Banger as she shall now be known as ) with us to Devon as a sort of kill or cure sort of test lol, although a tad worrying is seem to have acquired a damp patch under her overnight which will require some looking at later today.

I say "go for it, sh*t or bust"
I take mine all around the country with no real probs,it's one of the roughest looking/sounding wagons you will probably see (some one on here will vouch for that )
If you are in any doubt you can always give me a shout as i live in Devon, i can also point you in the direction of some good lanes down here
