Re: Glad i bought a fronteraI think he would have had problems with most tyres, with the recent dry weather the road builds up a layer of rubber compound from many tyres in the dry, this when it rains can be worse than black ice as the water sits on the film of rubber and tyres cant grip, Ive done it many years ago with a 30 odd foot bus doing around a sharp bend.

Re: Glad i bought a fronteraNow THAT brings back memories Ste.
I was driving an old Atlantean double decker down the cobbles of Edinburgh's Royal Mile, and when I went to turn left down the Bridges, it carried straight on. Had to wipe the seat, and sponge my back. Regards, Keith.

Re: Glad i bought a fronteraTreat dry cobbles with caution and wet cobbles like ice! Thats why one of the most successful hand drawn "trailers" on cobbles were sledges. Add tramlines to that and it gets even more interesting, especially on any bike.

Re: Glad i bought a fronterai used to slide mine about all the time, the khumo KL71s have cured it, they did the same on my vitara as well, they grip MUCH better on the road than any other M/T ive ever had, work great off road as well, havent done enough miles to see how well they wear though.
Its the wifes until it breaks down.
