Supermarket Discounted Fuel vouchers - warning!!

Was in the local Morrisons this afternoon and was awarded my petrol voucher for pennies off per litre. Cashier advised that the voucher will only be accepted against fuel purchase if the associated till receipt that earned the voucher is presented at the time the fuel is purchased.
Apparently this instruction had not been fully passed to some staff who consequently did not advise customers who have then gone and filled up but being committed to paying full price having run their tanks down to take advantage of the promotion.

If it isn't stated on the voucher that you also have to have the recipt no amount of "Morrisons Policy" will bail them out and they have to honour the voucher ... basic consumer rights, and Trading Standards will have to set them right.

Typical, any excuse to get out of giving a discount now they have got your money from the shopping.

Don't know if you do it, but when they have these '5p' off promotoins going we either cut the shopping 'buy' down and do it £50 quid lumps or if doing the monthly shop in one hit watch the till thing like a hawk and stop the cashier every time it hits the 50 quid mark and pay in order to max out the number of vouchers, with the cost of fuel these days anything helps!

The very first line on the rear of the ticket states "must be accompanied by till receipt, with value of@ least £40" I only read the terms & conditions to see if LPG was excluded. its not

Morrisons do it the other way round snapper, they put points on your loyalty card when you buy petrol, and this gives you money off your shopping.
This voucher malarkey aint a bad deal though as you only have to spend 40 quid to get 6p off a liter, as opposed to the likes of tesco or sainsburys where you spend 50 quid for 5p off a liter.

I usesd to do that with bus tickets in college. Scanned one in, copy and paste different numbers in for the dates, drivers, issue etc. Did it during my e-commerce classes, saved me a fortune!
