Hey
Not directly a frontera but perhaps helpful
One of our vans at work as failed its MOT with one of the reasons being "Centre windscreen has a sticker or other obstruction enroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone 'A'" 8.3.1e
Our op basically said he had his satnav on the windscreen but it was where the wipers swept ie a bit of the windscreen they clear. if so could this lead to possible problems with pedantic police saying the satnav mount is "in the way"?
FYI van failed on other things too not only that one

I think you will also find if you have things hanging from the rear view mirror that will also be a failure.

I have always thought its dangerous having a satnav stuck directly below the rearview mirror. Makes for a massive blindspot. I tend to tuck it to the very lower right of the screen ... usually inline with the dash. The new mount I have made is on the dash and only sticks up an inch or so into the screen at the bottom.

mine goes bottom right..only problem is the power lead, have to tuck it into the gap below the dash.
the wife nearly had a coming together with someone who had it mounted nearly dead centre of the windscreen..

Most testers I know would have come and found you if it was only one item (and that was it), myself included and suggested while I was 'checking something else' that you removed it.....however, when the rule 1st came into use the amount of crap people had on dashboards/obscuring their view of the road was frightening. I failed a car for having so many stuffed bleeding animals on the dash with the sunvisor down it was like driving a tank!

Red5, I have seen quite a few cars, the dashboards of which resemble mantlepieces - thank goodness people don't get Smurf ornaments with every tankful like they used to as most ended up on that "mantlepiece".
