Re: BatteryWas thinking of fitting it in the car, it is a dual purpose battery. Just wondered if they are mainly a leisure battery with engine starting capabilities or fine as a permanent fitting in the car.

Re: Batteryi dont think i would fit it in car as it more suited for long slow discharge in caravan or for small marine engine
it will not be well suited to full time use on car as the power use on start will be too great plus you will need a good alternator to put the power back
Re: BatteryApparently, the standard battery size for the troop bighorn is 115ah, so the alty should be ok. These are £40 odd cheaper than a "conventional" car batterry, just trying to save a bit of cash. I have asked the seller if they are suitable or just occasional starters.

Re: BatteryI think the 2.8 starter is 2.4kw so the battery has to be able to put out some 200A to be able to pull it off.
Re: BatteryMy trooper is a 3.1. Most batteries of this size would have at least 800 cold cranking amps, so no worries there. More concerned with the way the battery can supply the starting power.
