going to portugal for a long weekend next week so we are going to meet with some lads and there taking us on some lanes up in the mountains...problem,,do i take the fronty,,,which i know will return 26-27 mpg or do i take the 3.9 disco which i have just upgraded with wheels and tyres but only does 15-16 mpg its about a 500 mile round trip,,,love my fronty, ,,but also love my disco,, ,,,choices ehhh...... maybe i should think about getting one car,,,,,
If im not spannering on the fronty,,,,,,,im spannering on the 101,,or in the hammock,,now bugger of and leave me to it,,,,, http://kevcardno.wix.com/tugs-4x4

depends what terrain your going to be doing, if its a lot of rock crawling where the fronty would get axle twisted a lot then Id take the disco, if its more mud and stuff thats more slippy then Id take the fronty. Or you could be silly and take the fronty on a trailer and use the one thats most appropriate and stick the other on the trailer LOL

Also the fronty might make it back home again LOL (Sorry I couldnt resist! ) jokes aside the disco does look the part! I think you need to spend some more money on the fronty now!! its looks standard next to the disco!

both nice looking trucks, but i think i'd go with the fronty..just because it's got a better mpg and because it served you well on the last trip...but that said, if you trust the disco to make it there and back...tough choice..
The greatest lesson in life is to know that even us idiots are right sometimes

Well it has to be a 2.8, simply because they are easy fixes in the field and most inventive local rural garages can fix a fix on a jap engine easily enough should you encounter a problem that is I for one would not consider the DTI or anything so complex as an overlander, it would freak the locals out if a DTI has a problem, codes and code readers and stuff, some may only have electricity when the donkey can be arsed chasing carrots on the treadmill....
