banter general discussions etc

Hi, Not the best of topics obviously.........but the mot is due soon and its going to fail...............needs welding on drivers side rear arch and the roll bar mounting point same area........there is rust on both wings/doors/bull bar/tow bar........everywhere really..........only good part seems to be the engine, starts first time every time and goes really well(thirsty though )..............So as it stands i dont think i'd be happy selling it to anyone as it is, i could be less honest and try but i wouldn't be comfortable with that. Scrap prices seem to be high at the moment and i'm guessing it weighs more than a standard car.........anyone any idea of how much i could roughly expext to get for it? Thanks in advance Martin ps Get well soon Dazz

I weighed an old pug 306 last year and got £160...now thats probably about a ton of car.
If i recall my lwb is between 1800 or 1900 kgs or there abouts to give you some idea.
you could strip parts and sell for a better profit over a longer period....if you have time and tools

scrap metal is about £150/per ton and its just under 2ton if you can take the cat pipe off or cut it off when you get there and weigh it seperet as its about 40-70 on its own and a tip to get that bit more soak the seats in water and the carpet and a good idear to scrap any old metal you got lieing about at the same time

You get more for genuine OE cats as apposed to aftermarket coppies due the them having less platinum inside..Hence why they are not as good at passing MOT'S so i was informed by VOSA so bare than in mind if you do remove the cat before scrapping the motor.

Dave1966, easypops may barter two bumper end caps for one knackered wheelbarrow to keep his scrap value up!
